A college about familial obligations. I am someone who is seeping with eldest daughter syndrome. My matriarchal mother and patriarchal father came together to create a protector of their youngest son with a host of issues. Being the first of all of my cousins to be born here, I was unknowingly behaving as a blueprint to my aunties and uncles as to what the perfect balance of cultural assimilation could be. My accomplishments were shared joy, and my failures were my own solidary sorrows. That’s a lot on a newborn baby. That’s a lot on a 30 year old woman.
